About the Role

The primary role of the Landscape Gardener / Green Wall Technician is to oversee the ongoing maintenance of Vertikal's green wall installations and to support the Queensland Construction Team with both residential and commercial projects across the SE QLD metropolitan area. This is a hands-on position suited to a qualified horticulture or landscaping professional with a passion for plants and sustainable design.

Vertikal provides all necessary tools, a fully maintained company vehicle with fuel card, and a mobile phone. On-the-job training and ongoing professional development are provided. This position reports directly to the QLD Construction Manager.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

● Maintain and service Vertikal's vertical garden and green wall installations

● Conduct regular inspections, pruning, fertilising, and replanting to ensure plant health and presentation standards are met

● Diagnose and resolve plant health issues, pest infestations, and irrigation system faults

● Support the installation of new vertical garden systems on residential and commercial sites

● Operate and maintain irrigation and fertigation systems, making necessary adjustments Record maintenance activities, plant replacements, and site performance data

● Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, and internal team members

● Comply with all workplace health and safety requirements

Skills and Experience

● Minimum 12 months' relevant work experience in landscaping, horticulture, or garden maintenance

● Tertiary qualification (Certificate III or higher) in Horticulture, Landscape Construction, or a closely related discipline

● Strong plant knowledge, including species identification, soil conditions, fertilisation, and pest and disease management

● Understanding of plant selection appropriate to varying weather and microclimate conditions

● Experience operating and maintaining irrigation systems

● Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors and at heights

● Current open Australian driver's licence
