About the role
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will lead the design and delivery of enterprise-wide data platforms and pipelines. As Principal Data Platform Engineer, you will provide hands-on leadership, drive engineering excellence, and mentor teams to build scalable, secure, and interoperable data architectures. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic cloud and data initiatives, enabling advanced analytics, AI / ML, and operational intelligence.

Duties / Key responsibilities
Architect scalable, cloud-native data platform solutions using modern technologies
Drive engineering excellence through CI / CD, automated testing, observability, and DevSecOps best practices
Ensure platform interoperability, enabling seamless data flow and collaboration across teams
Mentor and uplift engineering teams, providing thought leadership and hands-on coaching
Collaborate with architecture, security, and platform leaders to influence enterprise-wide cloud and data strategy
Lead design and implementation of resilient data services with robust SLAs and proactive monitoring
Partner with governance teams to embed metadata management, lineage tracking, and access controls
Champion reusable design patterns and modern engineering principles in data product delivery
Actively participate in hands-on delivery alongside local and offshore teams
Skills and experience
10+ years in data engineering, with experience leading complex, enterprise-scale initiatives
Strong expertise in cloud data platforms (Snowflake, AWS, Azure Data Services, Databricks)
Skilled in building data pipelines using frameworks such as DBT, Airflow, Kafka, and Spark
Automation-first mindset : Infrastructure as Code using Python, Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.
Proven track record in designing high-performance, scalable, secure, and reliable data solutions
Experience mentoring engineers and elevating team capability
Knowledge of data governance, security, and privacy regulations
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
