As the Payroll Consultant, you will be the subject matter expert in payroll processing, compliance, and analysis. You will ensure that all employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with relevant Australian laws and company policies. You will act as an intermediary between HR, finance, and external stakeholders, providing insights that support strategic decision-making.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering the fortnightly end-to-end payroll cycle, managing adjustments (allowances, deductions, bulk payroll changes, exits, workers' compensation), and periodic reconciliations and lodgements for payroll tax and superannuation. You'll maintain current knowledge of PAYG, state taxes, superannuation, and evolving leave entitlements. The role involves building strong internal partnerships, fostering continuous learning within the payroll team and leading process-improvement initiatives. Important to your success – let's grow together
Demonstrated experience in Australian payroll processing and administration, ideally within a medium-to-large organisation.
In-depth understanding of payroll legislation, Fair Work Act, modern awards, taxation, and superannuation.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex payroll concepts in plain language.
Experience using SAP, SuccessFactors, EC/ECP preferred.
Intermediate to advanced excel skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of payroll processing and reporting.
Tertiary qualification in finance or accounting, desirable.
