You would work with a range of interdisciplinary teams to provide speech pathology assessment and intervention to community based clients.

Most of our clinical population are adults although some children over 7 and adolescents are also seen.

Service delivery is mixed: in our lovely office in Fairfield, by Telehealth or at the client's home or hospital/community setting/day placement/justice setting.

We are looking for a Speech Pathologists with the following attributes, qualifications, and experience:

A kind, warm personality and willingness to learn.

A high level of enthusiasm and willingness for ongoing learning.

Tertiary Qualifications in Speech Pathology with eligibility for SPA membership

Ideally to have Relevant post-graduate experience working with a wide range of complex-needs clients

Willingness to work flexibly and independently

A current WWCC

Current Police Check

Commitment to evidence-based practice and professional development with conference participation encouraged and supported.

Ability to work independently and in group-settings

Ability to maintain strong therapeutic relationships with clients as well as with care team members

Demonstrated strong communication skills, both verbal and written Potential participation in student training

Experience with adults with ABI or acquired neurological conditions preferred but training can be provided.

About Applied Communication Skills:

Applied Communication Skills (ACS) has provided speech pathology in Melbourne and Victoria for over thirty years and provides practical assessment and treatment of a wide range of complex communication disabilities resulting from developmental or acquired brain impairments.

Our approach integrates evidence-based practice into individually targeted programs.

ACS works closely with a number of other highly respected Allied Health Practices to ensure that capacity building programs are implemented in a consistent and effective manner. We participate in clinical research and enjoy strong associations with both Monash and Melbourne Universities.

Assessments are provided at our office or in the client's own home or workplace, and where possible, therapy is completed in the client's own environment. Integration into the community is undertaken by skill building and careful grading, in line with current recommendations for effective capacity building.
