Role Overview
In this role, you will work with clients in Australia across various industries, including finance, healthcare, and government, to architect and implement IAM solutions that meet business and regulatory needs.
The Identity and Access Management Architect will be responsible for integrating security solutions to manage user identities, access controls, and authentication across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments. You will advise clients on how IAM tools and technologies can protect sensitive data.
Responsibilities
Design and implement security controls, policies, and procedures for IAM across cloud and on-premise environments.
Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to design secure access control policies and the overall security framework.
Utilize IAM tools such as Microsoft Entra , Okta , SailPoint , and Ping Identity .
Ensure cloud-based IAM solutions comply with data sovereignty requirements.
Assist customers and vendors with security assessments, audits, and due diligence activities.
Stay current with security threats, technologies, and industry best practices, and translate that knowledge into improvements to the organization's security posture.
Contribute to the design and review of IT infrastructure, systems, and applications to ensure security by design.
Work with cross-functional teams to deploy technologies including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, access controls, and encryption.
Qualifications
Required Skills: Expertise in IAM solutions such as Okta, SailPoint, Ping Identity, and Microsoft Identity; deep understanding of IAM protocols (SSO, MFA, RBAC, LDAP, SAML); knowledge of Australian Security and Privacy Principles and data sovereignty; familiarity with GDPR and NIST SP 800-63; strong knowledge of cloud IAM (AWS IAM, Azure AD, Google Cloud IAM); experience integrating IAM with cloud environments and enterprise applications.
Experience
Minimum 8 years designing and implementing IAM systems, including at least 5 years working with Australian clients.
Proven experience building IAM architectures compliant with Australian security/privacy requirements and industry best practices.
Experience with cloud-based identity management solutions aligned with Australian cloud data sovereignty requirements.
Proven success delivering IAM solutions to large enterprise clients in regulated sectors (finance, healthcare, government).
Familiarity with Australian Federal and State government regulations.
Australian citizen eligible to obtain AGSVA security clearance.
