About the role
The Solution Architect will support the PMO by providing an overall understanding of the technical solutions, interconnections, and implications of ICT projects within the PMO remit. They will have a hands-on role in preparing documents for Enterprise Architecture review, solving technical challenges, particularly as they arise between projects. The Solution Architect will support Program and Project Managers, Risk and Issues managers, and senior staff to ensure sound management of all technical matters at the Program Management level.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with PMO to support 15-16 ICT projects and an ICT environment transformation.
Develop and implement solution architectures that meet business requirements and align with strategic goals.
Highlight and analyze technical risks and issues.
Perform quality control checks of technical documents.
Produce high-quality architectural artefacts, including high-level and detailed designs.
Ensure solutions adhere to security standards and best practices.
Work closely with stakeholders, including project managers, developers, and business analysts, to ensure successful project delivery.
Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
Facilitate program reporting, risk management, and assurance activities across multiple projects.
Key Requirements
Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
Substantial experience in ICT architecture and cloud migration.
Exposure to high-security environments and understanding of security requirements.
Hands-on experience in producing architectural artefacts.
Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical specialists.
Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management frameworks.
Desirable
Relevant industry certifications such as TOGAF or Zachman.
Experience in government or large-scale enterprise environments.
TOGAF or Zachman (or equivalent).
