About Us
The Aboriginal Women & Children's Crisis Service (AWCCS) is dedicated to supporting Aboriginal women and children escaping domestic and family violence. Through safe refuge and trauma-informed practices, we empower families and rebuild futures while placing cultural safety at the core of our services.
About the Role
We are currently looking to recruit a number of Board Directors to join our team.
Key Duties
Provide strategic direction and governance oversight to AWCCS
Ensure compliance with ACNC and other legal / governance standards
Contribute skills in areas such as finance, philanthropy, people and culture, homelessness and / or domestic violence expertise, governance, fundraising, or community / government relations
Promote culturally safe and trauma-informed practices
Participate inboard meetings held every two months, withremote attendance fully supported
Support strategic planning and organisational policy development
Assist in advocacy, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement activities
Monitor organisational performance against the strategic plan
Support the Service Manager in leading initiatives that promote staff wellbeing and a healthy workplace culture
Engage in a collaborative Board environment, which may include responding to approvals or issues outside of scheduled meetings
