We are seeking a seasoned Senior Data Architect to design and deliver enterprise-scale cloud data solutions for high-stakes Banking and Telco transformations across ASEAN & Australia. You will lead end-to-end architecture, from pre-sales to delivery, ensuring security, compliance, and business value, while collaborating with clients, partners, and hyperscalers to shape and execute our modern Data & AI roadmap.
Requirements Key Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable cloud data architectures for efficient data storage, processing, and retrieval strategies.
Ensure data security, compliance, and governance are maintained and integrated into standards.
Optimize data pipelines for performance and cost, collaborating on data governance, sharing, encryption, and security requirements.
Manage data integration across systems, providing detailed design documentation (HLD, LLD), source system integration, downstream dependencies, risk mitigation, and disaster recovery plans.
Implement data quality frameworks, monitor, and tune data systems for efficiency.
Lead data migration and modernization projects, assisting customers in utilizing AWS services such as Athena, Glue, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, EMR, and Redshift.
Deliver on-site technical engagements, understanding customer requirements and creating Data & Analytics service offerings.
Support new distributed computing solutions spanning private and public clouds, including migration and development of applications using AWS cloud services.
Collaborate with AWS engineering and support teams, conveying feedback to influence technology roadmaps and share real-world implementations.
Engage with business and technical stakeholders to promote a data-driven enterprise vision.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
8+ years in IT platform implementation within technical and analytical roles.
5+ years in Data Lake and AWS platform implementation.
3+ years hands-on experience with AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR) and modern tech stacks (Spark, Hadoop).
Expertise with AWS Hadoop ecosystem and related services.
Proficiency with tools like AWS Glue, Kafka, Apache Airflow, Zookeeper, Lake Formation, Parquet.
Experience with SQL-on-Hadoop/AWS technologies (Hive, Spark SQL, Athena, Redshift Spectrum).
Programming experience in Python, Java, or Scala.
Additional experience with GenAI projects, embedding knowledge bases into vectorDB, chunking, MCP, and tools integration, is a plus.
Proven track record in architecting large-scale banking and telco data platforms.
Experience working across ASEAN & Australia, engaging diverse teams and navigating regulatory landscapes.
Deep knowledge of PDPA, MAS TRM, APRA, GDPR, and secure data architecture design.
Expertise in AWS-based and hybrid data architectures, including data lakes, streaming, analytics, and AI/ML integration.
Strong understanding of MPP and NoSQL databases, data warehouse design, BI, dashboards, and SQL-on-Hadoop/AWS technologies.
Success in implementing AWS services in distributed enterprise environments.
Ability to lead full project lifecycle from pre-sales to delivery and value realization.
Experience in co-developing solutions with AWS, Azure, GCP, and other partners.
Ability to translate technical architectures into business value for senior stakeholders.
Leadership skills to mentor and lead distributed technical teams.
Proven change management skills to drive adoption of modern data architectures.
Willingness to travel frequently within ASEAN & Australia.
