Overview Staff Software Engineer – Customer Service Lending

As part of Customer Service Lending, you will contribute to all aspects of the technology products and services we deliver, from technical strategy and design to coding, deployment, and operation.

Our squad purpose is to deliver cutting edge digital tools and automations to support lenders, associates, relationship managers to grow CBA's proprietary lending businesses. We achieve this by developing and implementing digital verification rules that utilise trusted data sources for automatic verification. You will work closely with the Product Owner, Product Managers and UX Designers in a Squad Tech Lead capacity to bring new features to life, keep our systems running smoothly, mentor junior team members, share your ideas, and see them executed.
Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain robust backend and full-stack applications.
Monitor and optimise system performance for high availability and reliability.
Mentor junior engineers and conduct thorough code reviews.
Stay updated with emerging technologies to enhance system architecture.
Develop new features and continuously improve existing ones.
Promote a collaborative and knowledge-sharing culture.

Technical Skills We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.
Solid experience with ReactJS, NextJS, NodeJS, NestJS OR .NET
Cloud environments – AWS/Azure
Familiarity with full cycle engineering, including test automation (unit, integration, and e2e tests).
Experience building scalable, high-performance, and secure APIs.
Proficiency with relational databases, SQL, and NoSQL DBs like AWS DocumentDB.
