Job Title: HSE Advisor

PHE Mining is seeking a highly motivated HSE Advisor to join our team on a 2:1 roster working at a remote mine site in South Australia.

Reporting to the HSE Lead, this role will ensure a culture of safety and quality on site, as well as maintain compliance with management systems. You will be responsible for providing HSE support, training, and building safety knowledge across our team in both surface and underground environments.

This position involves working in an underground mine with a roster split between day and night shifts.

About You:
  • Diploma in OHS qualification or a minimum of Cert IV WHS and TAE
  • Internal Auditing training (preferred)
  • Sound knowledge of WHS and Environmental legislation, standards, and codes of practice
  • D&A testing qualification or ability to obtain
  • Return to Work Coordination Qualification
  • Previous experience as an HSE Advisor on industrial electrical construction projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong safety leadership skills
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
About the Role:
  • Lead and promote a safety culture throughout the site to foster continuous improvement and implement best practice management systems
  • Conduct regular training needs analysis and manage internal audit programs in consultation with management
  • Prepare reports, record data, and gather evidence of site compliance
  • Manage workers' compensation matters, including rehabilitation, case management, and return to work programs
  • Report workers' compensation issues to management
  • Ensure all personnel work safely and adhere to all WHS and Environmental Acts and Regulations
  • Conduct random D&A testing on site
  • Identify non-conformances related to health, safety, and environment, investigate incidents, and develop corrective actions
