Engineering Manager

There are many opportunities to expand your engineering and leadership skills, as well as involvement in research and innovation, development of specifications and involvement in national and international forums and committees. The Structures Branch of Engineering and Technology is undergoing a period of rapid change involving a review of functions, roles, responsibilities and accountabilities. The successful applicant will be an active participant in change leadership for Structures. Change may involve reconfiguring the sections within Structures to better align with client needs and future demands.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Lead and support your team to ensure organisational change initiatives are developed and implemented in line with structural engineering and asset management best practice.
- Having an understanding of structural engineering and asset management principles, and utilizing digital technology and other initiatives where relevant to create innovative outcomes and engineering solutions
- Alongside the Deputy Chief Engineer (Structures) and Structures Directors, be part of a leadership team that implements organisational and business improvement change to Structures
- Actively participate in the direction, management and finalisation of structural technical documents and product reviews that underpins TMR structural design, construction and lifecycle asset management.
- Reviewing, facilitating and moderating feedback from multiple sources to deliver concise and technically sound outcomes.
- Build and sustain strong working relationships internally and externally that provide a rich intelligence network, which may involve intra and interstate travel.
- Ensure outcomes and learnings from the group are documented and shared with your team and the broader Structures group and integrated into future practice as part of a process of continual improvement.
- support E&T Structures Directors in strategic, technical and business improvement initiatives.
- Identifying opportunities for improvement in practice and business, developing and implement appropriate change management processes.

The Engineering Manager supports the Director (Structures), the Deputy Chief Engineer (Structures) and regional staff, with engineering services for structural road infrastructure assets on the state network, providing engineering advice and technical services to meet TMR's objectives including managing safety and risk.
