**Position Information**:
Mount Pritchard Public School is a harmonious and culturally diverse school situated in Southwest Sydney and is part of the Fairfield School Network. The school enrolment is 316 including 5 Aboriginal students and 8 refugee students. Approximately 80% of students are from a language background other than English. The school has students from 26 different cultural backgrounds with the predominant backgrounds being Australian, Vietnamese, Samoan, Arabic and Serbian. The school currently has a Family Occupation Education Index (FOEI) of 148. This is reflected in the equity funding received for educational programs.
The school has a strong academic focus, achieving excellent student growth and value-added results. The school provides a wide range of academic and extra-curricular programs aimed at developing the 'whole child'. There is a focus on High Potential and Gifted Education and preparing and transition programs including a School Readiness Program. Wellbeing programs are supported by dedicated staff preparing our young learners to connect, succeed and thrive. Links with partner primary and high schools are forged and maintained via initiatives such as the Western Liverpool Performing Arts Festival, ATSI Program and weekly PSSA sport. Mount Pritchard Public School is also involved in working with schools across networks through instructional rounds to improve quality teaching and learning through Instructional Rounds.

- An open and approachable leader with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills that contributes to a strong collaborative school culture.
- Demonstrated ability to lead whole school initiatives, and evaluative practices aligned to the Strategic Improvement Plan for whole school improvement.
- A proactive and innovative leader with the capacity to provide high-impact professional learning and work collaboratively with all stakeholders to improve student learning outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability and experience leading systems and practices across the school that are inclusive of the complex needs of learners from diverse cultures, Aboriginal communities, students with specific learning needs and students from low-socio economic backgrounds
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
