The Role

The Curriculum Development Consultant will collaborate with key stakeholders in the University to lead the design and implementation of a reimagined Murdoch Spine. This will include engaging in consultation and delivering the curriculum change activities.

The Murdoch Spine is a series of three units within the undergraduate curriculum aimed at equipping students with transferable career skills. Delivered by the Career Learning team for the past five years, these core units have various alternatives across different courses. This role involves reimagining the Murdoch Spine, incorporating the university's strategic themes into its design and ensuring alignment with the overall strategy throughout the program.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

- Lead, develop and implement the new Murdoch Spine structure and curriculum,
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to relevant University teams to identify and plan for system readiness, student information and enrolment, and staff communications,
- Provide high level support in identifying units for the Spine suite of offerings across the university Schools and Portfolios,
- Lead and support development of units to be offered by the DVC Education Portfolio,
- Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to assure constructive alignment of Spine-identified units with Spine Learning Outcomes and Murdoch Strategy.

What you’ll bring to this role
- Postgraduate qualification with extensive relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- Experience in designing innovative, future-focused curricula aligned with university strategy and graduate outcomes
- Proven ability to lead curriculum development projects using a collaborative, strengths-based approach
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and consultation skills
- Ability to lead and advise on interpreting and implementing regulations, policies, and frameworks
- Effective at leading, influencing, and supporting staff at various levels, including academic and leadership roles
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, deliver outcomes, and communicate effectively while also responding to leadership direction and playing a team leadership role.
