Overview: A Cafe Kitchen Hand plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of a cafe's kitchen. They support the day-to-day operation of the kitchen through food preparation, dishwashing, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Food Preparation: Assist the chef in the preparation and cooking of food items as required, including toasting sandwiches, cooking eggs, and other basic cooking tasks.

Dishwashing: Wash and clean utensils, dishes, pots, and kitchen equipment promptly to ensure smooth workflow in the kitchen.

Cleaning and Sanitation: Keep the kitchen area clean and sanitary by cleaning benches, floors, and other kitchen surfaces regularly.

Waste Disposal: Properly dispose of rubbish and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Food Handling: Receive, lift, handle, and store food deliveries with care, ensuring proper storage practices are followed.

Assisting with Food Service: Retrieve food items as requested by chefs and ensure timely delivery to customers.

Hygiene and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all hygiene and health & safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the kitchen staff and other cafe employees to ensure an efficient and seamless service.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 35 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Every weekend
- Morning shift
- Public holidays
- Rotating roster
- Shift work
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Penalty rates

Ability to commute/relocate:

- SCARBOROUGH, QLD 4020: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Kitchen: 1 year (required)
