**About the Organisation**
BWAHS delivers a range of programs and services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, men and their families who have been impacted by family violence. These services include the provision of case management, intensive family support, counselling for women, men and youth and children, and programs for men, women and children.
**About the Opportunity**
- BWAHS_ is currently seeking a** Family Services Practitioner** to join their team on a full-time basis, located in Bayswater, Melbourne.
Reporting to the Family Violence Services Team Leader, you will be **responsible for promoting healthy family functioning, including safety from violence, overall safety, stability and the development of Aboriginal children.**
**About You**
To be considered for this role, you** must have demonstrable experience working in family services & family violence case management or a closely related sector, as well as relevant tertiary qualifications.**
Notwithstanding this, you will have a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics and impact of family violence in Aboriginal families across the community, particularly as it relates to the cultural context of women, children, and their families within the Community.
Finally, you will need to demonstrate a practical understanding of State and Regional Aboriginal family violence strategies and frameworks and either have knowledge of or be willing to learn about other relevant services, including Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and family violence agencies, that operate in the area.
