**About the role**:
The Monash Health Ophthalmology Department currently provides clinical services at Monash Medical Centre Clayton and will return some services to Cranbourne with the opening of Cranbourne Community Hospital. Surgical services at the Cranbourne Day Surgery provide the second highest annual number of cataract operations in Victoria, with a smaller surgical service at MMC and MCH.
The clinics provide consultant, registrar and orthoptic services; general and sub-specialty, preadmission and postoperative cataract clinics for inpatient and outpatient, adult and paediatric, ophthalmic cases often associated with neuro-ophthalmic problems, trauma, complex medical problems or paediatric disorders.
You will provide orthoptic diagnostic and management services in a range of clinical settings including general, subspecialties, medical retina and paediatric ophthalmology. You will be required to work independently, while being part of a multidisciplinary team focussed on patient care and efficient health care provision within a high-volume service.
This part-time position (Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday) is expected to commence in May 2025. This position may be appointed at either Grade 1 or Grade 2 level.
