**Who you are?**

We have a dynamic opportunity for a Sample Preparation Supervisor to join our team within the Bureau Veritas Minerals Laboratory at Gauge Circuit facility in Canning Vale. You will be excited by the challenges of our business and the variety this role offers ensuring both short term and long-term objectives are met.

The purpose of the Supervisor role is to ensure that a safe environment is provided for your team to meet high performance targets and report to key stakeholders in a timely fashion.

**What’s you are responsible for, but not limited to**:
Ideally you will have previous experience and the following skillsets:

- Work to Bureau Veritas QHSE standards.
- Supervise and lead a team.
- Coordinates and scheduling the movement of inwards and outwards Samples.
- Support and drive the team to achieve daily production targets.
- Support and assist in on-the-job training of your team.
- Assist in reviewing processes to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Ensure procedures are followed and quality standards met.
- Good analytical skills to make safe and sound judgements.

**What’s needed**

To be successful in this position you will have:

- A good working knowledge of sample preparation laboratory procedures & sampling techniques.
- Understanding and implementation of quality control / assurance procedures.
- Understanding and implementation of occupational, health, safety and environmental principles and procedures.
- Ability to manage a large number of staff in the daily operation of a mining laboratory environment.
- Proactively manage staff in a ‘hands on’ manner.
- Demonstrated ability to organize structured competency-based training programs
- Able to work unsupervised either individually or in a team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Proven organizational skills.
- LIMS experience is preferred to achieve optimum production output
- Ability to prioritize work, in accordance with manager’s general work priority guidelines.
- Ability to motivate others to achieve desired outcomes.

**Shift work roster**:

- Monday to Friday
- 8 hour rotating shift roster
- Day shift (6.00am - 2.00pm)
- Afternoon shift (2.00pm - 10.00pm)
- Night shift (10.00pm - 6.00am)

**Full availability across all shifts is required

**Roster may also change in future to meet business requirements

Please note that as part of the recruitment experience you must be able to pass a comprehension, numerical and literacy test as well as a full Medical, Drug and Alcohol test.
