As a Research Fellow at the Centre for Health, Exercise & Sports Medicine, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research in ACL injury management. You'll work closely with leading experts to plan and conduct clinical trials, develop evidence-based strategies, and improve outcomes for people with ACL injuries. This role offers you the chance to enhance your research skills, publish findings, and make a significant impact in the field of musculoskeletal and sports medicine.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Conduct and Publish Research: Plan studies, analyse data, and publish results in the field of ACL injury management.
- Coordinate Clinical Trials: Oversee participant recruitment, data collection, and project timelines for ACL-related studies.
- Engage with Stakeholders: Collaborate with research end-users, including people with ACL injuries, and present findings to various audiences.
- Contribute to Team Success: Participate in departmental activities, support colleagues, and uphold University values in all aspects of work.

**You may be a great fit if**:
You are a dedicated researcher with experience in ACL injury management or related musculoskeletal fields, possessing strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.

**You may also**:

- Have an undergraduate degree in physiotherapy or a relevant health-related discipline.
- Possess a PhD or be nearing completion in musculoskeletal or sports medicine research.
- Have a track record of publications in musculoskeletal, orthopaedics, or sports medicine areas.
- Demonstrate experience in conducting randomised controlled trials and qualitative research.
- Show proficiency in data analysis, literature synthesis, and use of research-related software.

**Your new team - Centre for Health, Exercise and Sports Medicine**
The Centre for Health, Exercise and Sports Medicine (CHESM) is a formal University research centre located with the Department of Physiotherapy in the School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. CHESM is a multidisciplinary research Centre established in 2000. It has approximately 35 staff and students from disciplines including physiotherapy, podiatry, exercise science, nutrition, and biostatistics. The Centre has three main research streams: i) Osteoarthritis; ii) Human Movement and Biomechanics; and iii) Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine. The Centre has expertise in a range of methodologies including clinical trials, qualitative designs, implementation science, and biomechanical experiments. CHESM prides itself on its research quality and achievements with the team publishing approximately 70 papers a year, including in journals such as Lancet, JAMA and Ann Int Med, receiving large grant funding with 4 current MRFF projects and 4 NHMRC Investigator grants, and gaining awards such as the Young Tall Poppy Award.
