Haskoning Australia which is a company in Royal HaskoningDHV delivers tailor made engineering and scientific solutions to our clients across Australia, the Pacific and South East Asia. We are experts in the maritime, river, estuarine and coastal sectors, providing consultancy advice and civil and structural design services to clients in a number of sectors.
We are now seeking to engage a key member of the finance team where you will provide support to the Finance Director and Senior Financial Accountant, as well as the wider Australian team on a number of critical weekly/monthly tasks.
**This role will be part-time : 22.5 hours a week (flexibility regarding work days)**
In your role:
- Working with the 3rd party payroll provider to manage the fortnightly and monthly payroll
- Assisting employees with any payroll related queries or issues and escalating issues as required.
- Assistance with reconciliation and processing of monthly/quarterly State payroll taxes
- Assisting with general finance functions including general journals, and a combination of financial and management reporting tasks.
- Manage payroll and financial queries from Centrelink, Department of Human Services and ATO.
- Collecting, calculating, and entering data to maintain and update payroll information.
**Competencies**:
- Good organisational skills are required as is an ability to work independently, seeking guidance when required.
- Ability to work to strict time constraints, particularly with respect to fortnightly and monthly payrolls.
- Discretion as there will likely be sensitive information and figures discussed.
- Efficient and accurate data entry skills and excellent attention to detail is required
- Confident and Personable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- A flexible, practical and hands on aptitude, willing to perform accounting and back up clerical and administrative work as required.
**Skills**:
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a small to medium business.
- Experience and or understanding of the payroll process
- High attention to detail
- Experience in Microsoft Office programs
