About us
Early Childhood is responsible for the strategic management and implementation of early learning and development reforms, coordination of early childhood education and care programs, approval and regulation of services, supporting assessment and ratings and the quality improvement for all early childhood development and education improvement in Queensland.
Your role
**As the Principal Program Officer, you will**:
- Assist in leading the development of a suite of early childhood initiatives supporting effective practices to optimise learning and development outcomes for children across early childhood.
- Contribute to the development and management of strategic early childhood initiatives to increase the capacity of key stakeholders to support successful transitions and enhance continuity of learning and development for children.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Lead and manage early childhood specific initiatives to support sustained and consistent implementation, prioritising the participation and engagement of all children in development and learning pathways; and in quality transitions, that lead to successful educational outcomes and wellbeing.
- Develop and implement projects, including risk management strategies and key performance measures to ensure outcomes are delivered in a timely and effective manner.
- Identify, develop and maintain professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and agencies to collaborate on strategic early years priorities relating to early childhood.
- Develop strategies to identify regional and local early childhood needs including undertaking targeted activities and collaborating with clients and stakeholders.
- Access and analyse information sources such as economic and demographic data, Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) sector performance data, regional development plans, local government planning documents, recommendations and papers to inform planning and coordination advice and support.
