**About the role**

We’re looking for a dedicated **Catchment Ranger** to provide **daytime and after-hours support** across catchment areas and **Surface Water Operations sites**. Based at our Collie depot, this permanent role involves inspecting and maintaining assets, conducting surveillance, and ensuring compliance with **business management** processes and systems within **Surface and Ground Water Catchment areas**.

**What you can expect with this role**

Step into a **critical and rewarding role** where you'll oversee **catchment surveillance, sampling, and incident response** to ensure the protection of vital water resources. Your responsibilities will include:

- ** Monitoring & Sampling** - Conduct stream and reservoir sampling, perform **surveillance of surface and groundwater catchment areas**, and monitor land users and public activities to safeguard water quality.
- ** Patrolling & Emergency Response** - Undertake **routine after-hours patrols** and respond to emergencies such as **bushfires, missing persons, and pollution incidents**.
- ** Inspections & Compliance** - Oversee **Mining, Timber Harvesting, and Permitted property operations**, ensuring compliance with **catchment management strategies**.
- ** Collaboration & Enforcement** - Work alongside **Police, DBCA, Shires, and Fisheries** on joint patrols and contingencies while enforcing **bylaws under DWER delegated authority**.
- ** Public & Professional Engagement** - Support corporate, professional, and public information activities to enhance awareness and environmental stewardship.

**Your skills and experience**
- ** Industry Qualifications** - Certificate III in **National Water Industry Package** or relevant **Surface Water Operations** experience/trade qualification (or progression towards).
- ** Leadership & Management** - Certificate IV in **Leadership or Management** (or progression towards) with **considerable experience** in **catchment management** and surface water scheme operations.
- ** Field-Based Experience** - Extensive **hands-on industry experience**, including a **strong customer service background** working with the public.
- ** Catchment Expertise** - Catchment Ranger Level 2 certification and/or **equivalent experience**.
- ** Licensing & Technical Skills** - Possession of a **Western Australian “C” Class Driver’s Licence** (4WD experience desirable) and proficiency in **mobile computing** to manage work orders and complete reports.
- ** Physical Capability** - Ability to undertake **surveillance, monitoring, and by-law enforcement** across catchment areas.
- ** Specialist Experience** - Significant experience in **water-related operations** or a **customer service-related role** within the industry.
