**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Manager Consultancy Services and Occupational Therapist the Leader Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) oversees a team of PBS Practitioners to deliver positive Behaviour Supports within the framework of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. This includes providing direction and guidance to the team to deliver positive behaviour plans effectively and within their scope of practice.
In addition to overseeing delivery of supports provided by the team, this role will also directly deliver behaviour support services to clients. This involves undertaking relevant assessments to identify underlying reasons for behaviours of concern and developing effective strategies and plans that address the behaviour and enhances quality of life.
As the Leader this role also involves developing and documenting details behaviour support plans, coaching, modelling and support to stakeholders to implement the plans, and monitoring plans’ effectiveness, making necessary changes as required.
**Job Requirements**:
To be considered for this exciting opportunity you will ideally have the following:
**Qualifications and Accreditations**
- Undergraduate degree in allied health, psychology or social sciences is desirable.
- Eligible to registered with the NDIS Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner and work towards proficiency.
**Experience**
- At least 3 years’ experience in working with people with disability.
**Skills**
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of specialised behaviour support services within a disability sector context including:
- Demonstrated understanding of contemporary approaches to the use and reduction/elimination of restrictive practices.
- Demonstrated ability to identify high-risk situations and instigate an appropriate and timely behaviour support response.
- Knowledge of contemporary approaches functional assessment and demonstrated ability in the implementation of these.
- Demonstrated ability to develop a theoretical and ethically sound behaviour support plans that can be practically applied by those who will implement the plan.
- Demonstrated the use of consultation with all relevant parties in the development of behaviour support plans including identifying and mitigating barriers to implementation.
- Evidence of ability to document behaviour support plans that are easy to understand by those implementing them.
- Demonstrated skills in monitoring and evaluation of behaviour support plan effectiveness and in adjusting as required.
- Commitment to human-rights, person-centred and evidence-based practice.
- Understand and support the principles of individualised services with the ability to provide a service consistent with these principles and adapt quickly to changing priorities in clients’ needs.
- Ability and/or experience in working within a team environment to achieve client outcomes relevant to behaviour support.
- Demonstrated ability to train others to deliver positive behaviour plans effectively and within their scope of practice.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills across Word, Excel.
- Ability to independently travel within the Perth metropolitan area.
