**Position Information**:
Stockton Public School is a member of the New castle Learning Community and is in the Newcastle Principals Network. The school has an enrolment of 245 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, including 40 of our students who identify as Aboriginal. In addition, there are 32 students currently enrolled in our Department of Education Preschool. Our Preschool offers a five-day per fortnight play-based program and provides an outstanding transition to school. We promote a culture of high expectations and achievement for all students through effective, explicit, evidence-based teaching, focused on assessment, leading to curriculum differentiation and personalised learning, to support student growth and achievement.

The school has a strong sporting history and offers a broad range of extra curricula activities. The school works in close partnership with parents, local businesses and the wider community. Parents are engaged in their children's learning and actively participate in our range of school activities. The dedicated and energetic P&C support the school in achieving goals through an open and consultative relationship.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary
- Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively as a dynamic member of an executive team and balance the dual roles of exemplary classroom teacher and the complex responsibilities of a leadership role.
- Strategically lead collaborative change management processes in order to maintain a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and build the capacity of a team that embeds evidence-based, data informed practices, and inclusive education that enables student improvement and achievement, specifically relate your capacity to successful Aboriginal student outcomes.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
