**About the Position**

Working among a team of passionate and dedicated Library professionals, this position is responsible for providing our community with welcoming and inclusive front of house customer service. The Library Officer engages with our patrons to encourage a passion for reading, literacy, creativity and lifelong learning, and to foster early literacy development. They deliver the Learning English through Storytime programme and regularly visit new parent groups to demonstrate the importance of reading to babies and of libraries to our community They are also responsible for other library workroom tasks such as Inter Library Loans. The role is based primarily out of our Success Library, with occasional requirement to work from other branches.

**About You**

Ideally possessing a Cert III or IV in Library and Information Services, you are passionate about libraries and engaging with the community. You have previous experience providing quality, vibrant and engaging public library services and programmes, and have excellent spoken, written and digital literacy skills. You especially have a passion for engaging with young people, promoting early literacy development, and working with families learning English. Our successful applicant is required to hold a valid Working with Children check.

**Hours**

**Week 1**: Monday 8.45am - 5.00pm, Friday 8.30am - 5.30pm.

**Week 2**: Monday 8.45am - 5.00pm, Thursday 11am - 5pm, Friday 8.30am - 5.30pm

**Salary**: $37.69 - $40.27 per hour (plus Super), depending on qualifications and experience.
