about the role
Chevron Australia Downstream has an exciting opportunity for a Field Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Specialist (Contract Management). Reporting to the Asset Optimization Manager, this role will be based in Perth. This role is for a 12-month fixed term contract.
This role will effectively and efficiently steward the business unit execution of the Contractor Operational Excellence Management (COEM) process and conduct business partner field engagements and work with the Asset Optimization Project Managers and HSE Specialists to deliver critical projects safely. This role provides expertise and guidance on safe work practices, regulatory compliance strategies, and Human & Organizational Performance (HOP) principles to proactively manage potential risks and protect the environment. The position is also responsible for execution of risk reduction plan recommendations, assurance activities, field level emergency management and response activities, contractor safeguard learnings, regulatory requirements, action item tracking, incident investigations, audit recommendations, etc. and delivery of all HSE related trainings. Solution oriented - with demonstrated excellent communication and presentation skills, and high degree of attention to detail.
Responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain HSE Support, including Incident Investigation & Reporting, Risk Management, Managing Safe Work and Human Performance - Implement the Australia Products HSE Management System and ensure activities are completed in compliance with internal and external expectations. Support and coach business leaders both internal maintenance personnel and external business partners with implementation of the HSE management system. Support and coach line leadership conduct incident investigations as required. Maintain oversite and support for field-based activities, providing HSE support and guidance as required. Support the Asset Maintenance Teams assess and manage the HSE risk associated with projects and routine maintenance activities. Support the implementation of the Chevron Contractor HSE Management system and contractor work in progress requirements. Build HSE organization capability within internal & external teams through safeguard assurance to deliver safe execution of works.- Maintain emergency response readiness and dangerous good compliance - Review contractor emergency response plans and verify their capability to mitigate emergency events.- Regulatory Compliance - Develop and maintain a working relationship with regulators Monitor and drive completion of any regular compliance activities and closure of action items or recommendations.- Safeguard Assurance - Work with leadership and business partners to identify and effectively manage project potential high consequence activities. Develop and manage safeguard assurance program for these events. Implement safeguards assurance activities through field verification & validations with Business Partner.- Coaching, Training, and Inductions - Support the site HSE training and induction requirements for Business Partners. Coach leadership on all aspects of the HSE management system implementation. Build and support leadership led Operational Excellence “OE” culture.
