**Role Description/Criteria**

A wonderful opportunity has opened up at St Damian's Primary School for someone who is a highly skilled teacher with relevant qualifications and experience as a Learning Diversity Leader. We are looking for someone to work with our highly professional and committed team of staff to support our students identified with additional needs. This position will commence at the beginning of Term One 2025 and is for 4 days (0.8) per week (days and time fraction negotiable).

The successful applicant will be able to:

- be open to ongoing learning and development
- be enthusiastic, motivated and team orientated
- understand the needs of students with additional or special needs and work with teachers, Learning Support Officers and parents to ensure their learning needs are met
- organise and run PSG meetings
- assist teachers with programming to meet the needs of students through developing PLPs and other documentation
- liaise with various agencies including MACS staff to support families and students
- work with teachers to ensure documentation is relevant to NCCD funding requirements
- create rosters for Learning Support Officers to ensure students are supported adequately
- Liaise with Learning Support Officers and support them in their work with students
- commit to the philosophy of restorative practice
- possess a sound knowledge and understanding of current thinking and research into curriculum, pedagogy and the Victorian Curriculum
- demonstrate a willingness to support our Catholic school vision

**Special Requirements**

**Applicants must have**:

- current VIT Registration
- a commitment to the ethos of Catholic education.
- relevant Special Education Qualification would be an advantage
