About the role
The Supervisor forms part of the management team that oversees the operation of Community Corrections Services (CCS) within the Drug Court of Victoria and the Court Services Unit. The Supervisor has direct leadership and management responsibility for a team of CCS staff comprising Drug Court Case Managers and Court and Prosecution Services (CAPs) staff. The Supervisor works closely with the other Supervisors Drug Court and Court Practice, CCS Managers, Drug Court staff, Court Services Victoria and other stakeholders as required to develop, implement, maintain and support CCS functions within the specialist Drug Court and CCS Court Services.
The Supervisor Court Practice and Drug Court works across the Melbourne Drug Court (0.6 FTE) and Melbourne Court Assessment and Prosecutions Service (CAPS) (0.4 FTE). This role supervises CAPS Officers and Drug Court Case Managers who deliver services to the Melbourne Magistrates' Court. As the Supervisor you will work alongside a leadership team to monitor best practice Court Practices and Case Management and implement operational changes where required. Your technical knowledge of Case Management Practice will be essential to undertaking this role.
The Supervisor will be required to act as Officer in Charge as directed. The Supervisor may be required to work flexible hours or shift work, including weekends and public holidays, and attend call outs as required. Appropriate remuneration will be applied for the above in accordance with the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2020.
**To be successful in this role, you will have**:
- Experience and knowledge of best practice case management frameworks, including the provision of needs assessment in a human services context
- Ability to implement theoretical concepts to reduce risk and maximise individual outcomes.
- An understanding and capability in leading and developing a multidisciplinary team responsible for operational service delivery
- An ability to develop, manage and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders including and not limited to court staff, Magistrates, community organisations and drug treatment agencies.
A relevant qualification in social work, human services or criminal justice with experience in a related field is also desirable.

A little about us
Corrections Victoria's purpose is to deliver an effective corrections system for a safe community. Community Correctional Services (CCS), is overseen by Corrections Victoria, a division of the Department of Justice and Community Safety. CCS is responsible for the management and supervision of prisoners on parole, clients under post sentence supervision and court orders.
CCS is currently experiencing rapid growth in the offender population. In response to this, Corrections Victoria will embed evidence based practice across all areas of our work and target responses to the areas that will allow the greatest impacts to be made. This approach will contribute to a safer community and strengthen CCS for the future.
