**About this Position**:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Drainage and Water Attendant to join our Water & Wastewater team. This position plays a key role in performing operations, maintenance and construction works on Council's urban drain's, water and wastewater infrastructure.

**What we trust you to deliver**:
- Carry out operational and maintenance tasks on Council's urban drains, water and wastewater infrastructure as directed
- Perform a range of labouring tasks required for the operation, maintenance and construction of our water and wastewater infrastructure and the urban drainage network
- Contribute to daily planning discussions, toolboxes and other relevant meetings ensuring that operational safety standards are met at an operational level
- Work an on-call roster outside of normal working hours
- Operation of small plant and equipment e.g. Plate compactors, trench rollers, hand tolls etc
- Perform additional duties within the scope of the role as assigned by the Team Leader, including household water consumption meter readings.
**What you will need to be successful**:
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- General Construction Induction training (White Card)
- Basic level of computer literacy and competence in use of tablets
**Desirable**:
- Certificate III in Water Operations, Civil Construction (Pipe laying) or similar

**Full Time Contract**:76 hours a fortnight
**Salary**: A salary from $1080.60 (Grade 5 Entry) per week + superannuation

**Conditions of Employment**:**Conditions of employment are in the Local Government (State) Award and relevant Council policy, procedures and agreements.
**Pre-employment Screening**: Prior to employment, there will be a series of pre-employment checks that may include, health assessments, validation of right to work in Australia, validation of qualifications and licences, criminal history checks, psychometric assessments and referee checks.
**Immunisation Program**
Council has an immunisation program to provide employees with vaccinations against known health risks associated with their respective duties and to identify any exposure to products that may affect an employee’s health, fitness and wellbeing. This position has been identified as a risk to the employee and as such the successful applicant/s will be required to participate in the immunisation program and it is the applicant’s responsibility to have undertaken relevant immunisation/s prior to commencement with Council.
