We are seeking a highly passionate and engaging Nurse Unit Manager to join our Maternity Services Unit.

As a Nurse Unit Manager, you will foster a caring environment for our mothers and babies, sustain a rewarding environment for all of our staff and provide overall operational direction to the ward. As the leader of the unit, you will promote high quality clinical care and be an important part of the hospital’s leadership team in collaboration to the Director of Nursing.

The Maternity Services unit is made up of 5 birthing suites, 16 beds with private ensuites and 8 registered nursery beds.

**As a Nurse Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include**:

- Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family centred care in a team focused environment
- Coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based
- Providing guidance, mentoring and support to your team
- Providing operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management
- Be accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources
- Undertaking direct patient care as required
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards

**Essential Criteria**:

- Current Registration with AHPRA
- Registered Nurse with experience in paediatrics or midwifery.
- Knowledge of NSQHS/ACHS Standards
- Proven experience in an ANUM or NUM role
- Experience in building and leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach
- Demonstrated ability to foster positive working relations with a wide range of diverse stakeholders
- Post graduate qualification in Management or relevant area of nursing (desirable)
- Demonstrate a good knowledge base in labour management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care
