Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.

Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 65,000, and an expenditure budget in excess of $118 million. The population is culturally diverse with 9.9% of residents being born overseas. **Team Leader - Financial Analysis and Planning**

**Salary**:$115,886.68 per annum

Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced accountant to lead our Financial Analysis & Planning team for 12 months.

As the Team Leader - Financial Analysis & Planning, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality financial planning, analysis, and reporting. You will lead a team of finance professionals and work collaboratively across the organisation to ensure good financial management practices and delivery of Council’s statutory budget development and reporting requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Oversee the development and delivery of Council’s annual budget, long-term financial plan, and 10-year capital works plan.
- Provide strategic financial insights and reporting to the Executive Leadership Team and Councillors.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and reporting.
- Facilitate financial modelling, scenario analysis, and stress testing.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, accounting standards, and Council policies.

**About You**

You are a CPA/CA qualified finance professional with:

- A tertiary qualification in accounting, business, or commerce.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably with government experience.
- Proven leadership and team development skills.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Experience in financial systems improvement and business partnering.
