**Why The Role Matters**:
The Centre for Sustainable Development Reform (CSDR) established by the UNSW Faculty of Law and Justice in 2022, aims to connect knowledge and people to make small steps towards big changes. It creates safe spaces for changemakers—from government, business, and wider society—to plan pragmatic action for a sustainable low-carbon future informed by knowledge and insights from across the world. The CSDR builds on diverse research, education, and knowledge exchange partnerships aligned with global sustainable development commitments to drive forward the implementation of innovative and transformative workstreams. Currently active in over 20 countries, the CSDR works closely with decision-makers across government, international institutions, local communities, and the private and non-private sectors to create new approaches to decision making as well as bold and intelligent reforms.

Our team is made up of multi-disciplinary focussed researchers who are working on topics at the intersections of economics, politics, law, environmental management, data science and development. The CSDR Communications Manager will provide tactical leadership and delivery expertise in promoting and advocating for the strategic objectives of the CSDR to a global audience.

- Demonstrated experience in distilling complex information into clear and compelling messages for communication to a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Extensive leadership experience in a dynamic and consultative environment, with a history of guiding cross-functional teams to effectively engage with communications strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, lead diverse teams, and foster collaboration to achieve successful outcomes.
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills, with the ability to navigate through competing deadlines on multiple high-impact projects while maintaining high quality outputs
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated capability of producing high quality content for diverse audiences. This will include management of the CSDR website, and social media sites, ensuring strategic audience growth through the development and presentation of quality materials.
- Proven examples of strategic stakeholder engagement and influence, with a track record of working effectively with both internal and external stakeholders at senior levels, building strategic partnerships, and influencing decision-making to drive organisational goals and initiatives.

**Accountabilities**:

- Develop and deliver the CSDR Communications strategy, including key initiatives hosted by the CSDR such as the Global Ocean Accounts Partnership (GOAP), in collaboration with the CSDR Senior Leadership team to support engagement with key stakeholders, including governments, donors, foundations, the private sector, and civil society organisations.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with global, regional, and local partners to foster opportunities for CSDR staff and their activities to be platformed and/or to participate in appropriate public fora.
- Develop and manage the GOAP Member communications to ensure and maintain momentum, buy in and coordination between GOAP Members and Partners.
- Translate CSDR research into compelling and easily accessible formats to ensure uptake by key government, private sector and civil society stakeholders and audiences.
- Co-develop with the CSDR team high-quality, compelling content for diverse audiences, including press releases, op-eds, blog posts, website copy, social media content, and multimedia materials while appropriately utilising CSDR and UNSW branding.
- Manage the CSDR’s social media accounts and website platform, including those of key initiatives hosted by the CSDR, to ensure productive audience engagement and continued global relevance.
- Monitor and support the utilisation of partner branding requirements as needed, ensuring reporting to donors and partners relating to media and related assets meets their requirements.
