The role of the Back of House cook is to manage the food quality and efficiency from the back of the store. The role of Kitchen hand is to assist the cook during busy lunch rush, preparation of vegetable and meat, washing dishes, etc. Must be able to work Thursday and Sunday. The hours will be increased during school holidays and Christmas period.

Food Quality and Standards
- Building customer retention by delivering fresh food, fast to all customers.
- Consistently monitoring stock levels to ensure freshness at all times.
- Projecting prep and cook quantities according to the reports.

**Objectives**

**1)**Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices.

**2)**Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking.

**3)**Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgement and experience.

**4)**Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.

**5)**Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgement, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.

**6)**Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and serve food to waiters or patrons. Be able to follow instruction and maintain the consistency of food preparation.

7) Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, stoves, deep fryers.

8) Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods.
