Thank you to everyone involved in **Indigenous Football Week**® 2025 (IFW25). This year’s theme was ‘Transformation’, inspired by **John Moriarty Football**‘s (JMF) capacity to transform lives by creating ripples of change that flow outwards to impact families, communities and the nation.

To mark the 10th anniversary of IFW, new **research from Deloitte Access Economics** was released that highlights the transformational impact of the program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, improving school attendance and wellbeing. A key finding is that 72% of students are excited to attend school when JMF sessions are offered, leading to students attending 1-2 days extra each week where previously they had been absent.

Thank you to our IFW25 Patrons **Travis Dodd** and **Kate Gill** for being incredible role models to the 2,000+ young Indigenous footballers who take part in JMF every week across 18 remote and regional communities.

As part of the IFW25 celebrations, JMF hosted its annual **Moriarty Cup** in Sydney and our hubs celebrated with community tournaments.

A record number of competitors took part in the 2025 Moriarty Cup at Allianz Stadium, with 14 teams representing The Murrina Group/LVL80 Cranes, MinterEllison, Professional Footballers Australia, Optus, The Glen Group, J.P. Morgan, Stan Sport, Eastern Suburbs Football Association (ESFA), The GPT Group, Paramount+, Charter Hall, Civic Kitchen & Catering, Venues NSW, Deploy Sports, and John Moriarty Football.

Congratulations to this year’s champions, Deploy Sports, who played against The Murrina Group/LVL80 Cranes team in the final to win the Moriarty Cup trophy.

Thank you to all players and those involved in the day. An incredible $140,000 was raised which will support the continued delivery of JMF and harness the power of football to transform the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and youth.
