**About the Role**:
We have a new and exciting opportunity to join our high performing HSE team supporting all Nickel West sites, which include underground mines, open cut mines, mineral processing plants, a smelter and a refinery. You will provide technical expertise in the strategic management of hygiene related issues, provisions and initiatives across the organisation.

This position is based in Perth, with regular site travel across the operations. Flexible work options will be considered.

In this role, you will be required to:

- Develop and implement cross-functional or cross-asset hygiene improvement initiatives to enhance organisational capability in hygiene management.
- Develop and implement hygiene improvement strategies, including, but not limited to, exposure reduction programs, real-time monitoring and delivering HSE business plan initiatives.
- Provide functional expertise to senior leadership on material issues or emerging trends to drive consistency in hygiene related frameworks/processes/strategies across BHP
- Support line management in building an understanding of, and compliance with, Health Our Requirements (GLD 011) and applicable legal requirements.
- Maintain the Health and Hygiene Management Plans, and act as Corporate Endorser with the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, via Safety Regulation System (SRS).
- Provide governance and complete verifications of the Health Risk Management Processes, hygiene monitoring plans, biological monitoring, health surveillance, Respiratory Protection Fit testing, Hearing Protection Fit Testing programs across all the sites.

**About You**:
To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A tertiary qualification in Occupational Hygiene or similar/equivalent
- Full membership with the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH)
- AIOH Certified Occupational Hygienist or hold a professional certification by an IOHA NAR certification scheme (e.g. USA CIH, UK ICertOH, Canadian ROH) (Desirable)
- DMIRS Registered Sampler and approved Noise Officer (Desirable)
- Strong understanding of the occupational health and hygiene risks associated with open cut mining, underground mining, mineral processing, smelting and refinery plants and experience.
- Previous experience with Cority (or Medgate) and Safety Regulation System (Desirable)
- Experience in health surveillance including, urinalysis, lung function and audiometric testing (desirable)
- Strong project management, communication, and organisational skills
