**About the Role**
Newly created OHS Advisor role reporting into the Compliance Manager at this inner suburbs education provider.
The Work Health and Safety Advisor is responsible for coordinating their approach to managing and mitigating risk in order to maintain a safe working and learning environment and build a mature safety culture at the College.
This role is pivotal in developing a ‘safety culture’ across the College and has organisational responsibility for proactive and reactive WH&S programs and processes.
**About You**
You will be an experienced WHS practitioner who can act as an autonomous worker with the capacity for self‐direction, action and resolution.
Further skills and experience include, but are not limited to:
- Minimum of five years experience in a similar WHS role within a complex environment
- Certificate IV level qualification or equivalent experience in Work Health & Safety
- Detailed knowledge of WHS and WorkCover legislation/regulations and evidence‐ based practices (Victoria essential)
- Experience implementing a WHS management system with enabling technology
- Ability to implement/embed changes relating to WHS rapidly and effectively, and to adapt quickly to new environments and conditions
- Well developed planning, prioritisation and project management skills and ability to lead change
- Highly developed analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
