Our client is a leading peak body organisation who represent and support 1000 specialist healthcare and research professionals in their field. The organisation's key objective is to promote and continuously improve the standards of clinical practice, education, training and research in Australia through.
**About the role**
Reporting into the CEO, this is a newly created part time role where you will be playing a key part in shaping healthcare policies, advocating for the needs of patients, and advancing research initiatives in collaboration with key stakeholders. Working alongside a passionate and collaborative team of 5, your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to raise awareness, education and advocate for policies that support the interests of patients, identifying key specialists topics and issues relating to the members fields.
Be responsible for the development of reports, submissions and delivery of projects that enhance the organisations engagement across the broader health sector as well as federal and state level government.
- Enhance and actively contribute to advocacy strategies to promote and advance the organisation's policy positions
- Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and advocacy coalitions to advance research and promote evidence-based healthcare policies.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments relevant to specialist healthcare policies and provide analysis and recommendations to the executive team.
- Stay current with developments in research, healthcare policy, and advocacy best practices to inform organisational strategies and initiatives.
**About you**
To be considered for this role, healthcare policy, advocacy, or related fields, preferably within the healthcare or medical research sector will be required.
- Strong understanding of the Australian healthcare system, policy development processes, and regulatory frameworks will be advantageous.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, professional organizations, and advocacy groups.
- Passion for improving healthcare outcomes and advancing specialist fields through research, advocacy, and policy initiatives.
