Responsibilities: _*
We have a new opportunity for a Level 2 Trade Surveillance Analyst who will be assisting the financial crime compliance department to, identify, investigate, and report upon identified cases of trade abuse or financial crime in addition to assisting with the design and enhancement of the existing controls associated the group.
You'll be responsible for analysing complex information to form an opinion on whether there are signs that an alert or trade may be evidence of potential market abuse and take forward the agreed actions such as preparing reports and/or STORs for submission.
You'll also be responsible for driving improvement and enhancement to the team's processes and control capability, whilst also providing suggestions to reduce false positives generated from the system. You'll also be involved in ad-hoc projects and deep dives as required across other compliance workstreams where needed.
**Crypto Experience is Highly preferred - aligned to a Trade Surveillance Role in either FX, brokerage.**
*Main tasks will include, but not limit to
*
- Creation and maintenance of records
- Analyse customer and client information to assess risk
- Look for patterns to identify suspicious activity
- Perform regulatory investigations
- Escalate and present findings of investigations
- Keep up to date with and becoming an expert in current and changing regulations
- Provide risk advice for business decisions, responding to inquiries or requests
- Conducting trade surveillance and monitoring of transactions on EEA markets, including OTC and any product(s) that my client offers, for potential insider dealing or market manipulation
- Ensuring appropriate and timely alert management, following standards for closure or escalation
- Documenting surveillance reviews, investigations, and other activities following guidelines
- Preparing STORs for submission to FCA and other nominated authorities.
- Other duties as required which fall within the scope and remit of the role including, Adhoc compliance, regulatory projects, fraud, and AML.
**SKILS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**:
- Experience in Trade Surveillance either from a FX, Brokerage or banking background required.
- Knowledge of the UK regulatory framework (Market Abuse rules and FCA principles)
- Ability to investigate and analyse sophisticated pieces of information in differing formats (e.g., market data, verbal, and written communication)
- Strong research and analytical skills
- A great team member with a positive attitude, initiative and adaptable to change
- Ability to work collaboratively and deal with people from all levels of the organisation
- 4+ years’ experience in Trade Surveillance alerts investigation and reporting.
- Experience drafting clear and concise summaries of alert review findings
- Experienced initiating escalations, comfortable discussing with high level stakeholders
- Strong product knowledge of equity or exchange traded crypto markets' or, preferably, both - ideal
- Knowledge of EU & UK’s fair and orderly conduct rules and market regulations
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a small-team and fast-paced environment; and to work independently and to multi-task with mínimal supervision
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Strong judgment and decision-making skill
- Strong interpersonal skills, with good relationship building and engagement skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
**Nice to have**:
- Proficiency in Chinese Language (Mandarin/Cantonese; Simplified and traditional Chinese)
- Knowledge of Market Abuse Surveillance tools
- Strong knowledge of Excel and proficiently able to manage large data sets.
- Experience working with Zendesk, Blockchain Analytics, Jumio, Eventus, Solidus Labs, KX Solutions, Nasdaq SMART.
- Understanding of crypto-currency market
- A university degree
