**About the role**

We have an opportunity for a **Vehicle Examiner** to be part of our Engineering Investigation Section, Forensic Evidence and Technical Services Command team. The Vehicle Examiner's primary role is to conduct technical examinations of motor vehicles or vehicle parts and plant equipment and provide expert evidence regarding their examination to the judiciary.

The position is with the Engineering Investigation Section, whose primary function is to provide expert mechanical and vehicle identification evidence on behalf of the NSW Police Force. The role involves the mechanical examination of motor vehicles, farming, industrial and other plant equipment involved in serious injury/fatal incident, or other major crime, anywhere in New South Wales. There is an expectation that the successful applicant present the findings of their examination as expert evidence before the relevant jurisdiction.

Applicants must be trade qualified automotive mechanics and be prepared to regularly travel state-wide.

Applicants must hold a current driver’s licence with no traffic offences recorded on their driving history within the last six (6) months or NSW Police Force Bronze Certification.
