Building Surveyor

The Building and Environmental team are seeking a permanent Building Surveyor.
- This is a permanent full-time role, working a 9 day fortnight, and offering flexibility for a great work/life balance. Murwillumbah is located 15 minutes south of Tweed Heads (NSW).
- Remuneration will be dependent on registration and experience between Grade 6 $75,686 - $89,651/annum for a Building Surveyor - restricted (Class 1 and 10 buildings) or Grade 7 $88,141 - $101,440/annum for Building Surveyor - restricted (all classes of building).

**About the role**:

- carry out development and construction certificate assessments, determinations and inspections for new and existing buildings and structures within the Shire to promote a safe and desirable built environment
- assesses and determines Development Applications for single dwellings and associated structures

- an attractive base salary ranging from $75,686 per annum with competency based increments up to $101,440 per annum, this varied salary is across 2 salary grades, commencement salary will be dependant on knowledge and experience. Super plus 10.5%.

**We are seeking**:

- a minimum accredited certifier Building Surveying restricted (Class 1 and 10 buildings) for Job Grade 6 or accredited certifier Building Surveying restricted (all classes of building) for Job Grade 7 role
- eligible for membership of the Australian Institute of Building Surveyor.
- demonstrate sound working knowledge of Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 as amended, NSW Local Government Act 1993, Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020, Residential Apartment Buildings (Compliance and Enforcement Powers) Act 2020 and Regulations and National Construction Code.
- substantial experience in a position of Building Surveyor or Health and Building Surveyor.
- demonstrate well developed competency in the assessment and determination of: Development Applications under the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979, Construction Certificates, Complying Development Certificates and the carrying out of ‘Critical Stage Inspections’ and other building related inspections.
