**Postdoctoral Researcher (Darido Lab)**
**1RA6 - 1RA8**
**Fixed Term Full Time
The position requires a highly motivated Scientist with advanced skills in bioinformatic analysis of large sequencing data as well as various cellular, molecular and biochemical techniques. The scientist will employ laboratory models of head and neck cancer, cancer cell lines and patient samples to validate the sequencing data and identify novel preventative and therapeutic targets against the human disease.
Specifically, the position requires a Research Scientist with a PhD in bioinformatics, genetics, pathology, cellular or molecular biology who can work in an independent manner within an existing team.
The scientist would be able to teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, and technical staff. The new recruit is expected to have up-to-date knowledge of the latest technologies related to screening approaches and analysis of gene expression and signal transduction pathways regulating cancer cell survival and/or growth. Importantly, the researcher would have a strong background in cancer research with an emphasis on the discovery of new biomarkers of disease initiation and progression and the use of laboratory models, cell lines and primary patient samples to validate them.
