In Canberra, we run two key business units - the Government Security Operations Centre (GSOC) and Advanced Security Operations Centre (ASOC), providing services to customers who rely on Verizon to provide 24x7 security analytics to defend their critical infrastructure. This role requires you to work on a hybrid working model and participate in a 24 hour / 365 day a year work roster, including public holidays, nights and weekends with appropriate shift allowances applied. This is a great entry level role to kick start your career in Cyber Security. Key Responsibilities: - Active real-time “eyes-on-glass” security monitoring of customer SIEMs for security alerts, - Security alert investigation and triage within agreed SLAs, - Alert escalation to Incident Response teams, - ITSM ticket generation and management of the “Detect” component of the incident lifecycle (NIST), - Threat Hunting - Maturity Model Level I - hunting for indicators of compromise (known IOCs), - Incoming 1300 number call handling, - Identifying patterns and problems and bringing these to the attention of the appropriate stakeholders, - Coordinating with Tier 2/3 analysts, Senior SIEM Engineers, management, customers and other stakeholders, providing feedback on operations and contributing to continuous improvement of security operations, and - Contributing to documentation and knowledge base articles. **What we are looking for** You’re great at working in teams and can use your interpersonal skills to get your point across. You are self-driven and motivated, with good communication and analytical skills. You’re a sought-after team member that thrives in a dynamic work environment. What you’ll need to have - An associate degree or one or more years of relevant working experience. - One or more years of experience in a technical IT role, with cyber security experience being highly regarded. - A current AUS NV1 security clearance. - Willingness to work on a 24x7 shifting schedule.
