Aussie Life Care is seeking a passionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team at one of our SIL Houses. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals and live independently. If you are a compassionate, patient and reliable individual with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others, we want to hear from you.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide daily support and assistance to residents in their day-to-day activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment that promotes independence and social interaction.
- Develop and implement individual support plans in collaboration with residents and their families.
- Assist residents in accessing community resources and participating in social and recreational activities.
- Administer medications and maintain accurate records as required.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including allied health professionals, to ensure the holistic well-being of residents.
- Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming living environment.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
To be successful in this role, it is a requirement that you have:

- Cert. 3 in Individual Support (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills - able to listen actively and communicate clearly with participants and the Care Team
- A person who is respectful, friendly, and empathetic - able to build trust and create a safe, supportive environment
- You must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Police Check and Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Current driver's licence, car registration and comprehensive car insurance
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Medication Competency and Insulin Management training (or willingness to undertake training in these competencies)
- Experience with dementia, challenging behaviours, and alcohol abuse
- NDIS Orientation Module

**AVAILABILITY**:
Monday to Sunday
- 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM
- 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM
- 6:00 PM - 7:00 AM (sleepover)
