**WHAT YOU’LL DO**

Based in the Ampcontrol Head Office at** Tomago 2322**, we are seeking **a Technical Writer** to join our high-performing, fast-paced team. This opportunity is a 6-month fixed-term contract.

In this position, you will be joining Ampcontrol during a time of incredible growth and opportunity as we transition with industry, enabling progress and growth across resources, infrastructure and energy sectors. You will work across the breadth of the Ampcontrol business, supporting the development of technical content and documentation for our innovations in electrical engineering. From our expertise in products focused on improving electrical safety for hazardous environments, to mine site electrification and Stand Alone Power systems, you will work across it all.

Being considerate and appropriate to its intended audience, each of our technical document’s purpose supports our information sharing with customer and industry. The opportunity will see you hold the responsibility for the preparation, production and management of high-quality technical documentation about Ampcontrol products, services and solutions. High attention to detail and passion for technology is a must. An ability to interpret engineering and design specifications of our technical solutions, translating this detail clearly and in line with the purpose of the documentation, is imperative.

Key components of the role will include:

- Develop, review, correct, and update detailed technical documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
- Support Copy Writer in developing strong user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) copy
- Create and builds out user assistance infrastructure, including how-to-sections, FAQ
- Create and maintain the information architecture
- Develop and guide document management systems for technical and certification documentation

**WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?**
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field
- Software development experience
- 2-4 years’ industry experience as an effective technical writer
- Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences
- Experience using XML tools to create documentation
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage all stakeholders
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills, a demonstrated capacity to work to deadlines and the ability to forward plan
- Ability to liaise with a diverse range of people, stakeholders and customers
