Are you a skilled Drainage Engineer looking for a short-term opportunity to contribute to your local community? We have an exciting position available with the Melbourne City Council for a 2-month contract.
**Role Overview**:
As a Drainage Inspection Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient functioning of drainage systems within the municipality. Your responsibilities will include:
- Undertake inspections, drainages, routine maintained inspection, Proactive Inspections and issuing of vehicle crossing & road opening permits and management of works as directed
- Prepare reports, correspondence and investigate any issues as they arise.
- Engage, supervise and audit contractors undertaking work on behalf of the council
- Authorise and issue road opening and vehicle crossing permits in accordance with Council policy and guidelines
- Undertake pre
- & post-work service authorities inspections and where damage has resulted, assess the extent of the damage and arrange for repair through the Roads Infrastructure Maintenance unit or service authorities contractors
**Requirements**:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Qualifications: A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in drainage system inspection and assessment.
- Skills: Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
- Certification: Any relevant certification (e.g., Certified Drainage Inspector) would be advantageous.
