**Position Information**:
Cronulla High School is a comprehensive, co-educational high school located in south-eastern Sydney, adjacent to Cronulla Beaches and part of the Sutherland Shire. Cronulla High School’s current enrolment of 1,290 students is supported by a dedicated school community committed to improving student learning outcomes. The energy and work of staff in building a positive whole school culture and learning environment has ensured that the school is highly valued in the community. Our school has a well-established reputation for outstanding academic, performing & creative arts and sporting achievements. In addition, the school, teachers and students are supported by an engaged P&C Committee.

There is a combination of experienced and beginning teachers all evidencing leadership and working collegially to ensure student wellbeing, student achievement and the continuation of a positive school culture. Our staff are expected to be sophisticated users of ICT in the promotion of effective learning and in school administration. The work of the school is driven by the following three core goals: continually raising expectations; communicating with parents; and recognising and rewarding student achievement.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,

Ability to initiate, lead and enhance initiatives and effectively use data to address the school’s Strategic Directions

Highly visible, approachable, and responsive leadership which actively engages staff, students, parents and the community to promote a culture of high expectations

Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with the school executive team to enhance the overall teaching and assessment practices of staff to improve student learning outcomes

Demonstrated high level educational leadership skills that focus on creating a culture of continuous improvement in student engagement, behaviour and enhance student wellbeing

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
