**Position Information**:
The Ponds High School, located in the suburb of The Ponds in the north-west of Sydney, is a 7-12 comprehensive high school that will has 2,300 students in Years 7-12, 2025. Fifty-three per cent of these students come from a non-English speaking background and 0.4% identify as ATSI. The school shares a site with Riverbank Public School and is part of innovative community approach to teaching and learning. The school has developed outstanding teaching and learning programs including; a strong approach to student wellbeing, a culturally inclusive program and support for the creative and performing arts. The school has three support classes, a HP&GE class in each year and has an active BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program using the learning platform Canvas. The Stage 5 and 6 elective structure provides extensive choice for students. Current whole school learning and teaching priorities include; using CANVAS for effective learning and a Teams structure to support SIP priorities including; Assessment, Choice Theory, Literacy, Numeracy, Aboriginal Education, HP&GE, EAL/D etc. This position is working with another LaST teacher to support students with learning needs across the mainstream.

**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position - Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (secondary) and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs (secondary) in regular classes. Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needed and their teachers.

1. Well developed communication skills to deal with students, staff and parents.

2. Demonstrated passion and commitment to nurturing and supporting students with additional needs.

3. Knowledge of learning and support technology and administrative processes to effectively support student progress.
