We have over 17 years of success behind us, revenues over £50 million, and locations in the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, France & Germany. Our increase in headcount has averaged over 23% for the last three years, and we’re one of the fastest growing companies in our industry. In 2021 alone numerous awards were achieved which are a reflection of our dedicated teams, including the Queen’s Award for international trade.
**This role**:
Techbuyer has a fantastic reputation for the quality of its products and maintaining that is our Testing and Technical department. The knowledge, skill and diligence of this department are vital, not only to maintain the standard of our stock, but also to provide customers with information and advice, and ultimately to correctly fulfil their orders. Working with our Goods-In and Quality Control teams, T&T need another enthusiastic, keen-to-learn colleague to test incoming stock and build configure-to-order servers to spec.
We’re looking for someone with good technical skills and experience, knowledge or an interest in IT components would be a welcome addition. Attention to small details and an ability to logically solve a problem would also be great - we like an inquiring mind
There is always a lot of work to do and we often receive crucial last-minute orders, so you will need to be able to work quickly, precisely, and organise your workload accordingly. Some orders or tasks within the warehouse as a whole will often need to be prioritised so to be able to cooperate with other teams in a keen and agreeable way is essential. You will be working with our Goods In, Goods Out, Purchasing & Sales teams, sharing information and updates. Please note - this can be a physical role: you’ll need to be confident that you won’t collapse under a server.
You’ll be working with a friendly, eager and committed group of people who appreciate a similar work ethic and a sense of humour
**Required Skills**:
- Attention to detail - you need to be able to follow strict operational guidelines
- Computer literate with the ability to use of Microsoft Office 2016 and Windows 10 daily
- Methodical approach to problem solving and ability to use own initiative
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly with non-technical departments
- Organised approach to work
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Willingness to work outside of their comfort zone and assist other departments when required
- Enthusiasm to learn new technologies
**Desirable Skills**:
- Awareness of a variety of IT component parts such as RAM, CPU, HDD, SSD
- Understanding of installing operating systems would be advantageous
- Basic understanding/awareness of server operation such as configuring RAID
- Experience in CLI and terminal use / programming languages
**Role Responsibilities**:
- Test incoming stock, liaising with the Goods-In and Purchasing departments
- Data and configuration erasure of all server and networking equipment in line with company policy
- Configure, build and test all configure-to-order servers and blades for sales orders
- Refurbishing purchased stock to company standards for reselling
- General housekeeping duties, keeping workspace clear and tidy at all time
