Design Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and creative Design Assistant/Design Studio Coordinator to join the team at P. Johnson.

As Design Assistant/Design Studio Coordinator, you will work closely with our design team to support the creation of high-quality products and maintain and organised design studio. This is an opportunity to work in a tight knit team and gain valuable experience.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

- Support design team with design research and sourcing
- Produce accurate technical drawings and specifications to brief
- Ensure developments are on time by managing development schedule and communication with suppliers and design team
- Maintain a organised and functional design studio including filing fabrics cards and sample management
- Quality Control of samples and ready to wear

Desired skills and experience:

- Completed a degree or tertiary course in Fashion or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Illustration and technical drawing abilities.
- Solid understanding of garment measurements and specifications.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience liaising with offshore vendors (preferred but not essential)
- Ability to successfully multitask and contribute to team environment
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively

**Salary**: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Work Location: One location
