**The Role**

We have partnered with a global mining company to recruit an Approvals Specialist for an initial 12-month contract with the possibility of extension.

As part of a projects team, the Approvals Specialist will maintain the approvals register for the major project’s portfolio, review, and maintain documentation and communicate approval risks and delays with key stakeholders. The role will also coordinate environmental, mining, heritage, and tenure regulatory approvals with external approvals contractor in accordance with the project schedules.

**The Responsibilities**
- Identifying approval pathways and developing approvals documentation to support project studies
- Inputting of approval timeframes into project schedules
- Conduct and assists with contractor compliance audits and inspections to achieve compliance outcomes.
- Compliance reporting to Government departments in a timely manner.

**About you**
- Approximately 5 years’ experience in a similar role in the mining and/or processing industries
- Knowledge of Western Australian and Commonwealth approvals legislation and policies
- Understanding of project and engineering documentation and interpret into approvals documentation
- Ability to conduct site-based inspections and audits
- Ability to conduct contractor inspections and audits and facilitate compliance reporting to government.
- Exposure to environmental and/or heritage issues in Western Australia
