Despatch Officer

Reporting to the Logistics Co-ordinator, the Despatch Officer shall have the responsibility to; continuously seek improvements for the performance of the warehouse and despatch functions so that the operation safely produces and delivers to the agreed demand plans in a highly efficient manner, ensuring safe, environmentally sensitive manufacture and targeted deliverables for customers.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Plan and action daily activities in a timely manner to ensure customer orders are dispatched promptly and effectively. This includes activities such as packing, loading and delivering.

Unloading of sea containers in a timely manner.
- Liaise with colleagues to coordinate receipts and deliveries.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers if need be.
- Assist Logistics Co-ordinator where required.
- Manage incoming and outgoing goods as per company policy and procedures.
- Monitor jobs in progress with a view to identify any matters which require intervention to ensure a timely despatch and receipt.
- Direct and manage the day-to-day activities to achieve operational KPI’s.
- Ensure orders are labelled and packaged as per company and customer requirements.
- Ensure orders are complete, accurate and ready for accounting to invoice without delay.
- Collaborate with the leadership group.
- Assist production with general hand duties when required.
- Manage compliance with company freight policy relating to shipment, chain of responsibility and daily limits.
- Managing of pallets, gluts and crates
- Ensure despatch area is maintained in a clean and professional manner.
- Deliver monthly reporting and insights.
- Continually review processes and procedures with the objective of improving overall operational cost efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide assistance with improvement of current systems and procedures.
- Assist in the development and plans to manage progress towards meeting KPIs for the section.
- Assist in the improvement of current systems and procedures.
- Ensure work is conducted in accordance with compliant workplace health, safety, environment and quality procedures and practices.
- Any lawful duty that is requested of company management and supervisors.

**Essential Skills & Experience**
- Forklift ticket with relevant warehouse/transport related experience.
- MR or HR licence would be advantage.
- A Proactive, can-do mentality. Problem solving skills with the ability to think creatively to seek alternative solutions and exercise judgment where appropriate.
- Excellent customer service with verbal communication skills and capable written skills.
- Ability to read drawings.
- A commitment to teamwork and collaboration in meeting ECI business objectives.
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-up.
- Committed to safety, quality and ethical work practices.
- Computer literate with the ability to grasp and operate internal and external freight systems as required.
- Solid Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Experience working with Lean would be an advantage.

**Salary**: $30.00 - $34.99 per hour
